Questions about EarthFinds.

How do I identify a plant with a photo?

In EarthFinds, take a clear photo or choose one from your phone, select Plants, and tap Identify discovery. Compare the suggested species with the plant’s visible features. Choose Trees when you want dedicated tree identification.

How can I contact EarthFinds support?

Email [email protected] for help with EarthFinds or questions about privacy.

What can EarthFinds identify?

EarthFinds helps identify plants, flowers, trees, insects, mushrooms and fungi. Rocks, minerals and crystals are planned for future releases and are not current identification categories.

Does it work without internet?

You need an internet connection for species identification. Photos and results you have already saved in your field journal can be viewed offline.

Are identifications guaranteed?

No. Results are suggested matches, not confirmed identifications. Compare visible details and alternative matches, and consult a qualified expert when accuracy matters.

Can it tell me if a wild mushroom is safe to eat?

No. Any edibility information describes a suggested species; it does not establish that the mushroom you photographed is that species or is safe to eat. Unknown and conditional information should never be read as an edible verdict.

What happens to my photo?

Species identification sends a processed photo to the relevant identification provider: Kindwise for plants, insects and mushrooms, or Pl@ntNet for the Trees category. The app removes location metadata when preparing the photo. Saved discoveries are stored in your app’s local field journal.

Which phones is it designed for?
